A partnership with McCormick County School District provides academic services to students at John de la Howe School. McCormick County School District is accredited through Advance-Ed.
Faculty and staff at L.S. Brice School, located on campus, are dedicated to assisting our students achieve academic success. The school serves students in grades 6-10, offering instruction and support from fully certified teachers, principal, superintendent, guidance counselor and media specialist. Many of our students are at risk of not completing their education and may be below their grade level. The low student-to-teacher ratio at John de la Howe benefits students through more individualized instruction.
Curriculum is established by state guidelines. Those who face learning or emotional challenges are served through resource classes. Like other public school students across the state, our students participate in statewide testing programs. During the 2013-14 school year, Brice School students earned an Absolute Improvement Rating of 4.5 out of a possible 5.0, a substantial improvement from the previous school year.
Eleventh and twelfth graders at John de la Howe attend nearby McCormick High School where they participate in the academic and extracurricular programs.
